Mid Term Election - Zinke vs D TBD

This is a masterful execution of strategy. Slimy AF but impressive nonetheless. Dems are only crying foul because they were caught flat footed. Not much for us plebes to get riled up over. Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich will still be on the ballot come November.

I think Flint is gonna win it all, though I wish he wouldn't. I could be wrong, but my sense is that the boomers who for the last 30 years have served as a stabilizing force within the MT GOP, have increasingly falling off the rolls and have been replaced by internet-republicans and Trump sycophants. He will moderate his position on public lands somewhat, because nearly all these people do when they have to actually gander upon where the rubber hits the road.

Sheehy was a vocal PLT proponent. Didn't matter and he won no problem.

"Sheehy was a vocal PLT proponent." ... until he wasn't.

"I think Flint is gonna win it al ..." 'Disagree, as at some point his maximum MAGA mania will be revealed and will dissuade some rational Rs. (Have you ever heard his radical right wing radio chatter?)

I guess that's what I am saying. Flint is also all of a sudden very mum on PLT. His past support, like Sheehy's, seems easily forgotten by the electorate.

I hope you're right. I've little faith that MAGA Mania is enough of a problem for a critical mass of Montana voters - particularly those who are gonna be voting on the R primary ballot - to pick an alternative. The fact is that in the last 8 years the MT Dems have lost every statewide race where they tried to make public lands the central issue - though it certainly is to me. I'd like my hunch to be dead wrong, but I don't know if anyone has a real handle on Montana politics anymore.

I can think of 3 "friends" who have moved to Montana strictly to find commonality with this group.

You've gone from "the last best place" to "Where dicks are measured by how red you vote."
Yeah what they were actually attracted to was a brown stain. There’s still people in Montana that aren’t color blind and can see it for what it is but not many.

I am just some guy from the Midwest that moved to Coeur d'Alene in 2017 but Kootenai County ID seems like the extreme of this. The Kootenai County Republican Central Committee is endorsing Mark Fitzpatrick for ID Governor. He moved to ID from CA in 2018 so at least I have a year on him.

I guess MT is lucky that northern Idaho catches a decent number of the meal team six types fleeing CA, OR, and WA before they make it here.

That’s a bit of an invisible border up their in the nw corner of MT and if your looking for extreme radical partisanship that’s a great place to blend in with the locals like the fielders. I went to a party up in Libby back in my college years and I will never forget one of the locals doing a power bomb off the counter with a butcher knife. That’s a “special” place and gets even more special with alcohol. Best hunting in the state if your not claustrophobic

The governor candidate is actually in Boise area. But I think the local party is trying to make a statement by endorsing him. I could be very wrong, but have little doubt that Little will win the primary.
