My wife and I each drew 2 doe/fawn tags in a unit in WY that I am interested in for bucks in the future. We love antelope meat, so it seemed like a good way to go and check out the country.
We left Thursday night after work and stopped in Jackson for a little pre-hunt ice cream loading.
After a comfortable night in a cheap hotel, we were out in the unit and seeing lots of pronghorn by 10 AM. After getting the lay of the land, we had 3 doe down by early afternoon, with the wife getting the last one on Saturday morning, filling all four tags.
Shots were between 200-300, took a .308 Howa Alpine and a .270 WSM Winchester - The .270 WSM made all the kills.
Never saw another antelope hunter.
Back home Saturday eve and began cutting and wrapping.

All in all a great hunt, timed the weather just right - and the roads were dry.

Highlights - not hunting related:

1. One Eyed Buffalo in Thermopolis has great food, lots of it and reasonable
2. Met some awesome people
3. Ran into Jim Zumbo getting his groceries at Albertsons in Cody on Saturday afternoon - what a nice guy! Enjoyed BSing with him about hunting and his experiences for a few minutes.

These doe hunts are so under rated IMHO; going with yer wife sounds like the best situation imaginable what a sweet trip congrats!
