RMEF, TRCP, and BHA are definitely the champions of voicing opposition to federal and public land transfers. I have to give some credit to the Mule Deer Foundation as well, in there most recent newsletter this is an excerpt:

"We appreciate his support for improving how our government budgets for catastrophic wildfires. We also know that he has strongly opposed the sale or transfer of our federal lands and we applaud him for taking that position."

They go on to applaud Zinke as DOI pick. Being a Utah based organization I am glad to see MDF making there position more clear on the issue, especially when some other Utah based organization has made it clear they don't dare speak badly about the legislature they are in bed with. MDF is closer to that nameless organization than I would like to see them be, but clarity on this issue is welcomed.

Mule Deer Foundation: Statement of Support on
Nomination of Rep. Ryan Zinke as Interior Secretary

Salt Lake City, Utah: The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) today expressed their support for Congressman Ryan Zinke who was nominated by President-elect Trump to serve as the next Secretary of the Interior. Zinke, a hunter and avid outdoorsman has been a strong supporter of mule deer conservation during his time serving as Montana’s representative. MDF is enthusiastic about working with him as Interior Secretary and knows that he will continue to listen to sportsmen about important conservation issues. The following is a statement from MDF President/CEO Miles Moretti about the nomination.

“We thank President-elect Trump for nominating Representative Ryan Zinke as his Secretary of the Interior. Rep. Zinke is a western sportsman who understands the value of our public lands for providing wildlife habitat and recreational access for all Americans. He has been a good friend of the Mule Deer Foundation and we have worked closely with him since before he was elected to serve Montana in Congress. Montana is mule deer country, and Rep. Zinke knows and understands the challenges and opportunities facing mule deer across the West. We appreciate his support for improving how our government budgets for catastrophic wildfires. We also know that he has strongly opposed the sale or transfer of our federal lands and we applaud him for taking that position. The Mule Deer Foundation is looking forward to working with Rep. Zinke should he be confirmed as our next Secretary of the Interior.”

“We also want to express our gratitude to Donald Trump Jr. for his support in getting a true sportsman/conservationist nominated as Secretary of the Interior” continues Moretti, “It is great having someone like Trump Jr. championing hunting and fishing and who understands our rich sportsman’s heritage in this country.”
