MASSIVE Sagegrouse project

We need a lot more of habitat restoration projects, but we also need to reign in development on public lands. Without the stipulations that were put in place in 2015 that would have led to less degradation of grouse habitat, we'd be on better footing for the review that's happening in 2020. It would also be interesting to see how long the project area will be rested from grazing in order to allow new growth to take root & remain undisturbed, as well as what the invasive species response plan is for ensuring that these areas aren't taken over by cheatgrass, etc.

I think it's a great idea to try. They might find out it works really well. Like mr. Lamb mentioned they will have to control the undesirable plants or it will be just a bunch of wasted 50:1 ratio.

I don't think one can realistically argue it won't have a positive affect. Juniper encroachment across the Great Basin is pretty stunning when you look at historical photos. Not only does it reduce sagebrush cover, it also greatly reduces the forage capacity. My guess is WWP is fighting this as a roundabout way of fighting grazing, however messed up that is.
