Marketing is hard

A good friend of mine is connected with them, don't doubt that he will be pushing that thing. Seems to buy and sell more hunting crap than care about his future retirement.

I often wonder about this, like come on you can’t be THAT stacked to be spending this kind of money every season on gear.

Not that I know the full story, but I sometimes catch myself feeling a bit bad for some of the wives and kids these guys show in these videos. Assuming they are potentially ruining their financial futures not to mention time lost in the process.

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the perfect-in-its-simplicity advertising that just leaves you dreaming and scheming. Anyone familiar with those old Pinnell and Talifson ads in Outdoor Life? Nothing really needs to be explained when you see one of those. You just wish a Kodiak trip (and possibly time travel, too) was in your future.

All I know is I have major outdoor products marketing fatigue…seems like FB and IG is just constant marketing BS from them all. Buddies will text me about products…I usually say, IDK, spend money on index funds and tags. I’ve been using the red primos elk reed for 15 years…I did my hardest mountaineering and backpacking out of a Walmart pack. Experience and time in the mountains is all I care about.
