I must be really bored this evening, 'cause I don't really give a chit about scores, but one I saw tonight still has me laughing.

Not sure if any of you get Eastman's. If you do, go to Page 62 of the Aug/Sep issue. The article is called "Friendship and Memories."

Look at the picture of that antelope and tell me it is not 85" as stated in the article. Maybe this is an 85" buck. If so, the picture doesn't do it any justice.

Or, maybe this is another "Eastman Way" of doing things that Mike Eastman is always blowing about. Am I the only guy who gets annoyed when Mike Eastman talks about the "Eastman Way," like he invented something special?

I am not a "score freak" and if I need something scored, I take it over to Greenhorn and he does the math. My untrained scoring eye requires a very blantant lie for me to notice, but this one is tops of what I have seen in quite a while.

OK, so I am really bored and wasting time looking at antelope pictures before I head to NM on Wednesday.

Schmalts - where is that AZ antelope picture. Hell, if you measure the "Eastman Way," a big AZ buck could break the magical 100" mark.

There, I feel better now. Better sign off before I find something even more trivial to snivel about.

Happy Hunting!

I'm not much of an Eastman fan either, they have hunted with us before and didn't leave too well of an impression. They think they know it all and are holyier than thou. On an antelope hunt, Mike told all the guides we were idiot's for driving white trucks..."White is the flag of danger in the field".
That's going a little too deep i thought.:BLEEP:

Its funny, I hear that more people dislike the Eastman's than like them. They may be able to get big deer every year, but the fact of the matter is they tict people off. Eastman is a dirty word in a lot of circles in Jackson.

I like the fact that the Eastman’s perpetuate fair chase standards in hunting, but got to admit that they come off as super hunter status in their own minds. Lots of hunters hunt fair chase, and hunt hard, ask Buzz? FYI I’ve used a lot of colors in the vehicls that we used hunting antelope and by far the color that’s made em take off when they looked my way was bright red. Now I’m no expert but that just my observation.

Alot of times "FAIR CHASE" means Private lands too, not Joe public.

That being said, I've met Guy Eastman and he seemed like a Great guy. I've never hunted with him, but if you go off of first impressions, He's the real deal.

Sorry guys, didn't mean for this to be an Eastman's bashing thread. The buck I referred to was just so far away from 85", I had to make fun of it.

And as far as Eastman's crew, they are probably good guys. I subscribe, but Mike seems to be rather full of himself.

Happy Hunting!

I get a kick out of " the eastmans way " term they use. They think there the only ones out there glassing on high vantage points with swarovskis or something.
