I bought one as my pig/deer rifle when I was traversing the lowlands of mid Florida. Put an old Redfield 4X32 on it that I bought back in my college college days (early 70's).
My 1st note was that curved steel butt plate had to go bye-bye! It hurt to shoot more than a couple of rounds. Out in the field, I'd probably never even notice, but ut has it get sighted in at some point and rechecked year after year...... So a little Billy-Bob garage shop work got a recoil pad on right quick! Not such a great job, but better...
Next note it is d@mn quick, responsive and on the point instantly when afield. I've never shouldered a weapon so naturally afield.
Finally, I can honestly say that Pigs hate it, though none have ever personally told me so....
Anyone else have a M96? Your thoughts?
