I drew a region E Wyoming non resident elk tag and looking to talk with anyone who knows the areas well and or people who have had this tag before. There is a TON of private land so I am interested in finding pockets of public land to hunt....

Or, if there are reputable outfitters in this area I would love a recommendation.

Thanks!

Contact seven j outfitters (aka seven jack wagons) they lease 95,000 acres in Weston and Crook Counties. They have a bunch of 20s old year guides, and have a dick stroking contest at the Sundance saloon the night before opener to see where the guides are assigned too. They can mostly guarantee a 330-340 bull if you can shoot.

There are few walk in areas and forest service areas but mostly a pay type hunting situation, but there are huge bulls on private ranches.

Thanks! Appreciate the reference.

But it's easier to come on here as a newb and beg for knowledge without do anything for yourself and then disappear....duh
Johncushman- unless you know EVERY area of EVERY unit of EVERY western state then lock it up. Did you ask how many times I've already scouted different areas as my tag encompasses almost half the state?? Of course not. Part of being on here is to ask questions and share information with other hunters. I have shared plenty of info with other hunters about areas I know well. If you want to badger someone, find a different thread.

Dude, straighten your panties out and grow a backbone. Your mighty 22 posts like 7 years are astonishing with all of the information you could have shared, especially when the majority of your posts are on here looking for help. By the way, how many times have you scouted different areas?

Thanks! Appreciate the reference.
Probably need to contact the game warden out of Sundance and ask for landowners that allow cow elk hunting. Most of the bulls I see are on private leased ground by the outfitters. Or look into possibly prairie units east of 25 with blm pockets, some of those allow spikes/cows but not sure on the 2025 regulations.

There are elk from North to South on the East side.
Pick an area and check it out.
My avatar bull is from that Region.
As they say, good luck.

I made the mistake of listing E as a second choice, and I drew a general tag. I've only glanced at it so far, but seems like slim opportunities for Sept hunting (unless someone can save me with a few tips)
if you have deep pockets you could try calling every outfitter in those areas and see if there is a way they could work you in. doubtful though, i know of one outfitter that is booked for the next 7 years and not taking anymore at this time.
