Because what you state as facts, aren't.
Explain further please. I don't recall stating any facts in my original post. Lots of helpful tips, along with my opinion, but I don't recall any facts.

This doesn't have anything to do with our previous discussion about climate change does it? I get the feeling you're just disagreeing with me on everything now since we had that discussion...

Hmmm

.338 you don't have to worry about wind drift as much because you shoot heavier bullets than a .243.

.338 WM, 250 grain partition, 2700 FPS, G1 BC .473 10 MPH wind drift at 500 yards: 20.9 inches

6mm Remington, 105 grain scenar, 3000 FPS, G1 BC .472 10 MPH wind drift at 500 yards: 17.9 inches.

Any questions?

Come on buzz! While I don’t necessarily disagree with the point you are making, a little cherry picking goin on here. Why don’t you compare similar bullets and run a 250 otm rather than that fat ol partition in that .338 and then your drift is down to 11”.. lol..

I mean its so easy to shoot up to 1K...what difference does it make?

I shoot both of those in my rifles...cherry picking or not.

We can get as technical as you want. The majority of 243 bullets don't have as high of a BC as a 338 does. If you want me to, I can pull some numbers from my ballistics calculator and prove that your numbers are good for a small percentage of shooters out there.

Why not.

243 Hornady 58gr with a BC of around .2 has about 30 inches of drift at 500 yards and 10mph winds

338 Hornady eldx 230gr has a BC of about .62 which gives it about 16 inches of drift at 500 yards and 10mph winds.

Pick 2 bullets that are in the same category and not one of the worst 338 bullet and one of the best 243 bullets.

You confirmed my suspicion. Definately residual from the climate change debate.

Who said 1k yards was easy??? Missed that part too

He doesn't like me... We have different opinions on climate change 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, because nobody shoots partitions...in particular at big-game.

I have no idea what you're talking about with climate change, don't recall...but whatever I said, must have stung you good.

Maybe one of these days, I'll get around to shooting a rifle past 100 yards...and if I get really lucky, I can catch a rare, windy day to shoot in here in SE Wyoming.
