Logging should it be done or not yet

We always mark and number every tree we are interested in buying.
Catalog every numbered tree with our estimated grade & scale.
Always discuss skid routes usually land owners like to have some new trails cleared wich we can do.If the woods is in a program of some sort then the area DNR forester will come in and may tweak our markings a little bit or add some trees.
We add everything up, give the landowner our offer for the marked trees. If we have marked a tree they decide to keep standing it is easy to adjust our offer.
Landowner is paid in full before the first tree is cut.
A properly managed woods with some walnut can be gone over about every ten years or so.
This system seems to work well as we have cut some woods three times.
Another tip would be to have no question of where the property lines are exactly. If a tree is leaning toward the line either get permission for the drop zone or pull the tree against the lean.

I have half a mind of what trees I want cut and what ones I dont I kinda plan on splitting it like if I have 20 trees then cut 10? Would that work? Also skid road not a issue my great great grandpa had one of his friends make a road bout 70 years back. Property lines are right by some good friends and were well aware of them

If the crew is already right there, go ahead and get it done now. The deer will use the open area right away.
Yeah there just down the road a bit on 320 acres and up the road a bit on 50 and doing tree work on 20 so there close enough

I use to work for the Ga. DOT surveying new road construction. We would put in blue top hubs for grading. There would be pans, bull dozers running wide open and deer would come out on top of the back slope watching the equipment. Guess they were just curious. Not saying that would happen cutting timber.
