Spent Friday through Monday walking through the Zirkels scouting, still tons of snow and many of the roads to the trailheads are closed because of snow and flooding. Did make it to Newcomb Creek Trailhead and while my trek was productive what was even more interesting than all the snow was the mosquito’s. Creeks are streams, streams are rivers and rivers are lakes and there is standing water is everywhere, so boys and girls when the weather warms up it is going to get miserable. I am sure the West Nile Virus will surely raise its ugly head so be prepared, I went though nearly two cans for that little time and mosquitoes normally do not bother me much. Even had to spray my dog, at one point she came over to me and if I interpreted the look correctly she said what is wrong with this picture – she was literally covered head to tail with the pests. So stock up with your favorite repellent. Hope it is better in your location.

As some of you know, daughter number one is a marathoner and has had (and will continue to have) WNV for two years. You just really have to take care of yourself. When you let your system go for whatever reason, it jumps up and slaps the chit out of you. Lots of vitamins lots of rest when you feel it coming on. That is tiredness and lethargy.
