Leupold Firedot

As I’ve said I would like to buy a good set up for my Henry 45/70 scope rings the whole set up thanks again Sgt mike

op: that Nightforce is really really sweet!!!! I hope you enjoy the heck out of it.....

I just bought a Leupold VX3-HD3.5-10X40 with a Twilight Hunter Firedot reticle for my Marlin 1895 GBL, in 45-70
I thought the firedot was going to be too small, but it has 6 brightness settings & the dot really stands out well.
The glass is very clear. I used Med. height leupold steel rings to clear the buckhorn sight....
I would have rather preferred lower rings, but would have had to remove the sight & didn't want to do that.
My LGS priced the scope for $699 (100 bucks less than MRSP & only 30 bucks more than amazon) & the steel rings for $75 & mounted it for free.
Cant wait to get it to the range.......

Looking to pick up a scope for a Seekins PH2 in 7mm Rem Mag before the season this year and was debating on which scope to pick up. I already have a VX-3 3.5-10x40 on my Rem 700 in .308 and it does a good job, I don't think I've looked through any leupold without not liking it but I was looking into the firedot scopes that they have. Does anyone have experience with the VX-3 4.5-14x50, 3.5-10x50 or 3.5-10x40? I don't like a lot of magnification but I will shoot over 500 yards periodically with steel targets. I also have looked into the VX-5 3-15x44 but I feel like I wouldn't use the higher magnification very often as I don't shoot out to 1,000 so the extra price for me isn't really choice. Any input is appreciated.
Last week I was able to pick up this Leupold VX-3HD 3.5-10X40 CDS-ZL with the illuminated Fire Dot Twilight Hunter
reticle for my New Marlin 1895 GBL in 45-70.
I was a little concerned the Firedot would be too small, but with 6 brightness settings, it really stands out....the glass quality is outstanding.
My LGS had it for 100 less than MRSP & mounted it for free with Leupold Medium Steel Rings that just clears the buckhorn sight.
With the free mounting, i could not pass it up.
The only thing it needs is a brake, lol....Hoping to get it sighted in at the range soon.
