Lawsuit Over Wyoming Elk Feeding Seeks Sooner Phase Out

I'm not trying to be a smarta$$ but maybe more you should brush up on the facts of elk migration, it's limitations and the history of feeding elk in the Jackson Hole area. Personally, I would not undertake commenting on a similar issue in Washington state that I did not have the knowledge on or actually seeing the relevant information pertaining to the issue.
No knowledge, how about you tell me what else I should read? I'm a follower and avid consumer of the media put out by the Wyoming Migration Initiative and WyoFile. I have a subscription to Wyoming Wildlife mag. I've read the WGFD document on Elk Feedgrounds (https://www.wyomingpublicmedia.org/post/wyoming-game-and-fish-phase-out-one-22-elk-feedgrounds). I've followed along here for a few years reading what others have to say. And having dropped some coin for the access to our public elk resources in WY I feel I have earned a right to have an opinion on the topic, and maybe just a little bit of knowledge.

Best I can tell it started for the same reason it's still operating, so that WY can have more elk. Plain and simple.

Not sure what the Wyo Migration Initiative says about NER if anything. WyoFile is about as trustworthy as the Star Tribune or the Jackson Hole Daily. Haven't read a Wyo Wildlife in ages. The link you posted is about the Alkali feed ground. Everyone has the right to an opinion, but they are inherently wrong when their opinion is NER was started so Wyoming could have more elk. It was started to keep what elk we had left alive after a major winter kill in the early 1900s, because for some reason they don't migrate south anymore.

Posted the wrong link, hate it when that happens. https://wgfd.wyo.gov/WGFD/media/content/PDF/Wildlife/WY_ELKFEEDGROUNDS.pdf

So to summarize; Natural corridors/preserved winter range > NER/feeding programs > unknown alternative/ending feeding programs.

This is extremely distilled, but I want to say the lesson is that we made a mistake to begin feeding programs rather than preserving migration corridors and wintering grounds so let's not compound that mistake by making another one without fully understanding the consequences.
