Howdy everyone again!
I am the poor sucker who had a Colorado 2nd season rifle Bull tag that ended up herniating a disc in my lower back in August and had to give my tag up last year. I know, sob story.
I at least kept my points for this year and drew a bull tag...yee haw! And one thing I learned from last year, that although I am in pretty damn good shape for my age, health can be taken away at the drop of a hat....Don't believe me, just read my post complaining how I hurt myself last year. In all actuality, many were very supportive and the well wishes for a speedy recovery were greatly appreciated.
So taking that all into consideration, in my unit is a cast iron bitch of a spot where few dare to tread....tough country, miles away from easy access, and plenty of bulls. I've always said one year I'll hunt that and go after, as Randy puts it, "Big Hank". I've decided this is the year. I'll spend 50% of my allotted season going for my personal best, but if that does not bear fruit (meaning I don't even see a bull in that class range) then I will go to the meat on the table mode.
Hopefully, I'll get to follow up this post with some great and successful hunt photos. But regardless, as I have my acreage and little off the grid cabin right next to my hunting unit, I'll have a wonderful time.
Good luck to all of you in your adventures.
And as a side note, as we lost two hunters here in Colorado this year, I wish you SAFE adventures as well.
Cheers!
Kevin
