Last hunt of 08/09 Season

Season ends Thursday, but it doesn't look like we'll be getting out anymore. There wasn't much wind to keep the birds moving, but at least it wasn't raining.

Despite the lack of wind we had a number of large flocks of scoters fly through and enough singles and doubles to keep the barrels warm. We also picked up a couple hen oldsquaw, a drake bluebill and a couple harlies. Always need at least one sawbill just for good measure too.

They always post it on a Friday around the close of business. This year it will be on the 30th at around 4pm, since they said around the end of January. I'm feeling lucky, but I'm going sheep hunting even if I don't draw this year. Good luck.
