This happened a while back.
A buddy suggested I reach out to Fenwick. To my surprise, they warrantied the rod despite the fact it was my fault it broke.
Fortunately/unfortunately, however you wish to view it, I had already ordered a replacement. This forced me to add another spinning rod to the steelhead quiver.
