My uncle who is in his mid 80s is planning on giving me his boat this fall when he leaves for his Florida home. 1980 19' Sportcraft IO. Except for the sun fading this thing is in showroom condition. Motor and lower unit rebuilt two years ago. If anyone had told me I'd be getting a 31yr old boat I would've said they were crazy but crazy would be passing on this one.

Sounds like a sweet deal lets see some pics.I dont know what I would do in the off season of hunting if I didnt have my boat.

My father-in-law gave me his ski boat when he upgraded to a newer one. It's a sweet boat and we have a blast with it every year. Just keep in mind that "boat" stands for "break out another thousand". Free or not, they are an expensive toy.

Sometimes, it's Break Out Another Ten (thousand). Webster didn't define boat as "a hole in the water you dump money into" but he should have.

I'm lucky. My cousin has a nice boat, so I just chip in for gas and the real expense, beer.

Steaming- Just send me a cashier's check for $5,000, leave the boat at your uncle's house and we'll call it even. ;)

Best of luck with the new watercraft!
