My latest for the safe. 99F in 284 winny.

Trying to decide what to do about the stock and whether or not I should refinish it or not. I know the 99F in 284 does have some collector appeal, but I bought it for me and to kill some critters.

Funny enough as I was taking out for the pictures my son (3) says to me "ooooh you are going to smash the deer". I didn't think his connection between guns, deer, hunting and eating is too strong just yet....clearly I was mistaken.

Year of manufacture? Love those 99's. About the only Savage I'd consider buying.

Keeping with the lever action theme:

1886 WInchester in 33 WCF. Just back from the Smith. It's pretty rough. Dad purchased it as a project gun, wanting to rebarrel it to 40-65 WCF but never got to it. I think I'm going to keep it as a 33 WCF and just have it restored at some point. Going to try and see how it prints on paper before taking it for a walk in the elk woods. Please forgive the crappy iphone photo:

That savage is a very cool design. Don't know alot about them, hope my afternoon proves to be slow...then can do a little research on the history of them. Looks like mainly chambered in 300 savage, but a few .308s out there also.

I have a weakness for Winchesters. Picked up this 7mm-08 FW compact this past weekend when passing through Ennis. What sealed the deal for me was the unique knot in the wood.

Ben, It is fun to shoot too. I took it out for a whirl last weekend and am thinking it needs to be my late doe season rifle this year.

It's one of those undersung American hunting rifles. Never gets the respect they deserve. Hope you slay some does with it!

Oh Yeah! Make mine a 25-06 please!!!

7RM, 26" Brux built on one of the very first 7RM actions Remington made in 1962.
Dan Glover built it @ DCGS. I cannot believe how this thing shoots, WAY better than me.

Some days I want to trade/sell much of my collection for one like that. That is very sharp in appearance and sounds way more than just functional.
