Well Im getting all excited for this coming Turkey season.I was curious what Turkey Decoy you guys use and why.I am wanting to get a decoy this year.So just looking for alittle input on them.

It's not here yet.. BUT I'm excited too.... I just have a few plastic set up decoys.. BUt I'm not known to use them.. I've been more of a Spot and Stalk on my last 3 turkeys

K,
Where do we start...........Colapsible foam decoys certainly carry the best in either Jakes or hens (don't bother with a strutting jake or tom). I like Feather flex or Buckwing. I don't like the inflatables or sillouettes. Carry Lite makes a great semi-colapsible decoy as well. My old favorite is "Loretta" she's an old full body decoy made by Carry Lite, but she's a little cumbersome to pack around the mountain. They are kinda like soft plastics to a bass fisherman....more and different types are better.
Feel free to fire off any more questions, I'd be happy to tell where and how I've screwed up in the past.

Thanks guys.I was looking at the collapsible foam dekes by Carry lite or Feather Flex.I was looking at getting possibly 2 hens,a standing hen and a feeding hen.We didnt have too much luck last year when the Jake decoy was out, thinking it intimidated the other birds in the field.
What has been your experiences with using the Jake dekes??

Kraven...I have 2 hens and a jake decoy. When given the chance I would set them up slightly to my left (since I am righthanded shooter) with the jake decoy facing towards me. The hens slightly apart from the jake and each other. 1 hen I would place as close to the ground as possible so it would seem that she is getting ready to be mated by the jake.

I place the dekes away from me so that the gobbler's attention would be on them and I would be out of view but still have a clear shot.

Hope this helps a little
