Having read and watched all you sent me, plus doing my own research i have concluded that you are right and the same quality goes into both Tikka and Sako barrels.

Have also read that fluting a barrel,,,,,properly,,,,as done on my Saco finnlight can aid in accuracy. Any thoughts about that ?

I have a hard time seeing how fluting can aid in accuracy. I could see how one could get a slightly stiffer barrel at a given weight with a fluted vs round. I would think that fluting introduces additional negative variables for absolute peak precision than it does benefits. Nobody in the competitive shooting disciplines that require peak precision uses fluted barrels.

Sako Only flutes the barrels on their stainless Finnlight rifles. Probably as you say to make a thicker, stiffer, yet lighter barrel. Sako Finnlight rifles are famous for accuracy.
