Anybody put in for controlled turkey hunts?
I'm in for the 6th year maybe I'll finally draw. Goodluck to those who put in.

I tried last year but thought I would will have to be working. Plan to head down to the SE to try the general area next month

I'll hit up the general area if I dont draw. I'll head to Inkom area or Preston area.

This year will make for 37 years hunting them in Idaho and have yet to apply for a controlled hunt.

I put in because it's my backyard if I draw. If I dont draw it's atleast an hour drive for general.

I'm gonna try to make my first trip to Idaho in May. I hope I can find some turkeys.

I used to live in Moscow...27 years ago. Back then turkey hunting was excellent.
I used a mountain bike to get past locked gates at least 5 miles and rarely saw another hunter.

Nope.... there are lots of turkeys a couple hours north. I like that my kids can general hunt unit 38 now though.

Hopefully end up notching a couple general turkey tags this spring. Starting with a multi-day camping hunt to a new area in late April. After that it will just be chasing them on public land close to town on day hunts.

Might go for a "special unit" tag in the fall if I think I'll have time. Just looked at the regs, and it looks like a guy can shoot 6 turkeys in the Panhandle. If only I could shoot the ones in our neighborhood that crap on the sidewalk and tear up the landscaping.

Me too, except I, never rode my bike. Too lazy. We had some great spots just east of Moscow. Great hunting

Welp I didnt draw again! but on a side note the results were available super fast! 1 week after application deadline.
