Going swan hunting in a few days. My taxi got out of the business. Any suggestions of Good reliable taxidermists in e. Idaho or close by?

Thanks

FWIW, BOY sends his birds (all upland) out of state, but uses a couple of guys IIRC in Boise for big game. There are a few bird specialists in the Ogden/Nort Salt Lake area. I've never used them, but the pictures looks nice. ;) Here's one I'd heard about:

Will you be hunting Bear River NWR? Can be a bit boring as there's not much 'style' to it, but it is fun to drop those big suckers. Spend the $$ on some Hevi-Shot or similar type shells. In my limited experience they work much better than regular steel...

Don't know if you ever make it up to the north end of the state, but there is a guy in Moscow who does great work for very reasonable money.

Thanks 1 pointer. I am going with BOY so maybe I will just have to send mine in with his if he gets another one done...
NBell. Don't get to N. Idaho as much as I would like.
Thanks

We did have a good afternoon but not great. haha. BOY and I each took one shot and did not connect. Even talked about you a bit. Lots of birds just flying the wrong pattern. Next Time...

Hunting swans there is kinda like bottom fishing. Not much to do but wait and hope they fly over you. I thought my ears were burning some! I'd only believe 1/2 of what he says about me if its not absolutely flattering. ;)

You may not wish to go this route but I use a taxidermist in MO for birds. He is one of best I have ever seen. Loves doing birds. I am personal friends with perhaps the absolute best bird taxidermist in the States, Shane Smith from Bridgeport, AL but do not use him anymore since he has won so many awards and is covered up with business and keeps raising prices to scare away new customers but, damn, his work is awesome! My friend in MO is excellent and loves to do birds. A taxidermist has to love birds to be good at it. I have seen Black Swan from NZ and Swan from NC that he has done. He has done around twenty ducks for me and my two best waterfowl buddies. He does good work! If you want to pursue shipping and re-shipping let me know. He is way better than most when it comes to birds. He does 4-legged creatures too including a great job on African species but he loves doing birds. Just him and a helper.
He did my Gould and Oscillated turkey full mounts----awesome! You got to believe in a guy to turn them over to him!

BTW, want to judge a bird taxidermist? Have him show you a Teal he has done and check around the beak head junction.....
