Idaho OTC Deer Hunting

Me and my brother are getting Idaho OTC deer tags this year, it will be our first time hunting in Idaho. We've been looking at possibly doing the early hunt in Unit 27. Has anyone hunted that unit during the early hunt before? Just curious what to expect in that unit during that time.

Never hunted 27 myself, however like a lot of units in ID, get 2-3 miles away from access points and you can do ok.

Hunted elk in 27 many time before much of our area burned. Be in shape and prepared for any weather.

Spent 2 weeks hunting mountain goat in 27 last year and spent hours behind the glass. Did see one buck chasing a doe in early November. Beautiful country and as mentioned before, steep.

I would hunt a unit adjacent to 27 and hunt near the border of 27 and wait for the Oct. 10th opener. Unit 28, 36B, 36 would be good areas.
