On day 3 this 2 year old gobbled and stutted every 20 feet for 200 yards.........for only me to witness.
On day one....well safe to say the activity was somewhat limited!!!

EG,
I've seen them continue to march around and gobble/strut when it's raining and or snowing.
But when it's dumping like we had last Thursday I beleive they simply fly up in a tree to wait it out. There were a number of birds in our area and they didn't say a peep til late the next afternoon. It had been warm and dry for nearly a month....then a 40 degree drop in temp and snow........It stalled out the process temporarily.
Tomorrow a.m. my 11 year old daughter will hopefully have the opportunity to put the wood to a long beard. We set up a blind last night and had 3 very nice gobblers marching around within 100 yards of the blind location.
Pictures and stories to follow.
