Hope someone can help me with what I consider a pretty basic question, but I don't live there.

I skimmed the regulations for Idaho in regards to how many elk a person can take per year. I figured one, but then I saw mention of people being able to buy non-resident tags, etc., and it got me to wondering if I was right or not.

If that sounds dumb, apologies, but I never assume that what applies in one state, applies in another.

Thanks!

It is One, but residents can pay out of state price and buy a second tag if they desire. I know a few guys that do it for deer but not many for elk if you can fill one tag your doing good two would a lot of hunting or being retired and not have to work. LIL

Thank you very much! I thought I was reading the regs right, but just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing.

Where to buy over the counter elk tag

Didn't draw in Wy. Considering idaho or Montana, which would be the best.

Page 40 of this year's regs-

Note: Residents or nonresidents may buy one unsold nonresident
general season deer and elk tag at the nonresident price, starting
August 1, to be used as a second tag.
