So my son pinged me the other day about SD points and I said I can't help, I buy my points in WY....And I had a bunch of deer and lope, but not elk...he says, I just started all 3 in WY and I'm like WTH....OK....Well I have no elk points....so I have now started elk point in WY and I'm just putting yall on notice, in 5 years I'll be asking for help ! LOL

Ive been chasing a WY region west tag for 5 years, maybr next year. Its basically a once in a lifetime now. Still plenty of chances for a ciw tag with no points.

I don’t follow the wyoming general tag very close. Are you guys suggesting It’s creeping a point a year? Bonus point system has been in place for 20 years so seems like 0.5 pt per year is more plausible. You can catch that

It's preference points not bonus points, big difference. And in 5 years it'll take 10 points, could be even more. The demand is way more now than even a few years ago. You can catch it but it won't be in 5 years. I hope there's a change in the system coming, but I doubt it.

A half point is more accurate. If you buy your first point this year it'll be about 10 years before you can hunt West general tag. With that trajectory it'll then take you 20 years to draw the next tag. Now a tag that could be had every other year like a decade ago is now a once maybe twice in a lifetime tag.

The creep has gotten faster in the last 5 years. I think the southern general tag took 6 points for 100% draw this year. I think 3 years ago you could snag a general tag with 2 points
