I have never hunted anything other than whitetails and mallards here in Arkansas. In 2010 I want to travel out west and go antelope hunting. Needs to be public land or reasonable trespass fee with over the counter tags, i guess. Any help?

Over the counter licenses are available but they will be for doe/fawn tags here in Wyoming. There may be an any antelope tag during hunting season but do not bet on it. Your best bet is to apply for areas that have good access to public lands. You can use the maps at the WYO Game and fish web site and then purchase a BLM map of the area you would like to hunt. Central Wyoming has quite a bit of public land and several different antelope areas.

Like Ole said, Wyoming is best place to start. Hard to find a bad antelope place in WY. The units with worse odds have more public land. Less public land, better odds. All have lots of antelope and all will be a great time.

The application deadline is March 15th.

Good luck.
