This spring I am REALLY tired of not hunting. I need to get out and chase something. I'd love to try hunting for spring bears in eastern Idaho. I need help. I hunt in 59/59a and 75. Neither has many bears historically. I did do some elk hunting in 61 last year so I know the area a little.
I'd like to try spot and stalk but where to start looking? old burns, logged out clearings berry patches, the thick stuff?
Another option would be baiting but having exactly zero experience with it I wouldn't know where to start.
I'd be interested in hunting with someone else if they didn't mind ignorance on my part. My schedule has kept me in and out of the state but if we could plan something I'd be there.
Love to hear from somebody with insight, thanks!

Baiting in 61 is limited to the area that is west of Hotel Creek in Clark County. There is no baiting allowed in units 62 and 62a. There are a few crazy folks that bait in 60, but they probably get a few grizzlies on there baits. If I was looking to hunt that country I'd look to old burns and also gated logging roads and walk and glass them. I may be doing some of the same myself depending on how north idaho treats me.
