Just thought I'd share something...on Monday, one of my employees was coming back from lunch and as he was turning into our parking lot, he had a massive heart attack. His body flexed, his leg jammed the accelerator pedal, he jumped 2 boulders (in his little Acura), sped through the parking lot, whacked a parked car and came to rest with no engine/fluids about 100 yards down the way. He died twice before he reached the hospital but both times the crew was able to jump-start him back to life. Doctors discovered a 90%+ blockage in an artery in his heart. They put a stent in and he's doing well. Doing so well that they moved him out of the cardiac ICU a couple days early. The quick response of everyone involved saved his life and prevented significant damages. It really caused a lot of us to pause and think about the things we take for granted and the things we're thankful for. Visiting him in the hospital each day and having that reminder that someone can appear healthy and pass doctor exams and whatnot but there can still be hidden dangers lurking...sobering for sure. Confirms that we should live each day and truly live. Never know when the big guy upstairs will call our number. I just heard from his wife and it looks like he will be discharged early due to his great recovery.

Good to hear he's doing well.Another reason not to put off dreams for another year.I always make sure to kiss the little ones and the wife each morning before I leave

Wow, that is amazing. And a good grounding of the tenuous health we all can take for granted.

Glad to hear he turned out okay. I have had to try and jumpstart people three times in our ambulance, to no avail. I love to hear the stories when it works out with a good ending. Best of luck to his recovery.

Glad to hear he is doing okay.
Your are right, we need to "live each day". Live each day as if there is no tomorrow. Bottom line, death is only a heart beat away. Never put off anything for tomorrow that you can do today.

Glad to hear he is ok now, and everyone is right you gotta live it now cause if you wait it may be too late.

Big fin has his signature that hunt when you can because you will run out of helth before you run out of money. That hit me right to the core this year, and I have planned two out of state hunts. Something I rarely do, only done two others up to now. That statement is right on the money.

Thanks guys!

A fine reason to hunt more...
EXACTLY, Buzz!!! This situation helps demonstrate why I don't feel bad for applying to a half dozen states this year...:D

I'm not going to run scared or anything, but there is something to be said for living in the moment and not taking anything for granted and not having regrets. :D

Amen to what's been said. Life goes by so fast. We need to enjoy today cause tomorrow might not come. Glad your friend is doing all right.

One of my boys buddies age 20 showed up with a cancerous tumor in one lung a couple of months ago. They went in and took the lung. He came home, was OK for a while, then some problems started showing back up. Long story short, his cancers back, they gave him a chemo shot, and sent him home. A year ago he was a senior in High school, at the prom. He was all state TE on the football team. So if you have the inclination, maybe you could say a word or two for the boy.
