1 pm rule is over with. You can now hunt Missouri birds all day.Biggest tip for a new turkey hunter is to sit really effing still. If he is coming in, do not move unless his head is behind a tree. They have zero curiosity.
Also, Missouri is the best state for turkeys. Their 1pm rule keeps turkeys acting like turkeys.
Good luck.
Don’t underestimate this dude, he went into deer season last year literally with 5 rounds total and had never ever shot a deer. Everyone told him practice up and wait another year….You should video yourself calling a turkey in so close you can grab it.

Lmfao forgot to mention my rifle was shooting 10 inchs to the right at 50 feet and so when I shot my first doe I didn't even have the cross hair on it and I hit double lung heart and then with my buck he appeared so quickly I just shot and somehow dropped him instantly and the wacky part is I never found the hole or bullet . There was a little blood on the inside but no broken ribsDon’t underestimate this dude, he went into deer season last year literally with 5 rounds total and had never ever shot a deer. Instead- Shoots two rounds to make sure he’s sighted decent. One week later he’s got his first deer and 2 rounds to spare yet!
Very pretty green out there! I believe you, TJ!

I hope you have since bought another box and made some scope adjustments? …Steering towards the hole on the target… Don’t go into this deer season that way again buddy.Lmfao forgot to mention my rifle was shooting 10 inchs to the right at 50 feet and so when I shot my first doe I didn't even have the cross hair on it and I hit double lung heart and then with my buck he appeared so quickly I just shot and somehow dropped him instantly and the wacky part is I never found the hole or bullet . I am kinda using a sloping down hill by a fence as cover and as far as calling I'm kinda the same on it I get tired if they don't wanna come to the call i also don't like the mouth calls much so the less calling Is my kinda thing lol but I'm wondering how good of work finding there feeding spot would be and waiting there asfar as the fix bayonets charge that sounds fun but it's impractical where I'm huntingI didn’t read all the comments, but don’t be afraid to use a ditch or cover to sneak them. Yes they have good eyes, but if they are locked up and won’t come closer sneaking closer and calling again has killed a lot of turkeys for me. I don’t waste time calling turkeys that won’t come in, call, if they don’t move, move to them. You can’t move when they can see you but don’t be afraid to when they can’t.
Also depending on how dead set you are on killing one vs calling one. The old “fix bayonets” and charge them works good when they spin and are facing away from you strutting. I don’t use it anymore, because I like to call them close. But like antelope they take a second to realize what is going on and what they are seeing so you can gain 10-15-20 yards on them pretty quick. I don’t recommend this in mud or uneven terrain.
Turkeys act a lot like antelope in the sense that they move very unpredictably most of the time. About the time you think they are headed to a spot they decide to go another direction. They may feed in the same spot 2-3 days in a row then go somewhere else completely for absolutely no reason.I am kinda using a sloping down hill by a fence as cover and as far as calling I'm kinda the same on it I get tired if they don't wanna come to the call i also don't like the mouth calls much so the less calling Is my kinda thing lol but I'm wondering how good of work finding there feeding spot would be and waiting there asfar as the fix bayonets charge that sounds fun but it's impractical where I'm hunting
Hmm I will say turkeys are wierd by the way I have a question why do we have to only hunt Tom's and not hens? We have more hens then Tom's and this flock I'm gonna hunt only has 1 tom I believe so if he gets shot then there's no Tom's? So why can't we hunt hens?Turkeys act a lot like antelope in the sense that they move very unpredictably most of the time. I think they have a better plan then wandering aimlessly but that’s what it looks like a lot of the time.
