Hunttalk Vacation trip...

Schmalts got me thinking.... We haven't done a Hunttalk hunt trip in while. It seems like it's always hard to get something like that together with the cost of trips, the availability of game when it comes to getting hunters of more then 4 together, etc.

I was thinking though, everyone needs a little vacation. What if we planned a Hunttalk Vacation trip next year. Something small maybe ? a 3-5 day cruise ?

Just a thought, but I was looking and something like a 4 day out of Maimi for $249 ? or a 5 day out of Galveston to Cozemel and Costa Mya for $269 ?

Something like that wouldn't break a budget since food and lodging are included.

Anyways, jsut a thought for next Feb(ish). Don't know if my wife would buy off on me going and talking hunting on a cruise with some of you Fools but for the price for a little sunny getaway might be fun ? We could do a couple things together but do our own thing too.

Open to other Idea's.......... Jsut thinking about the warm weather is all.....

How about VEGAS? plan it a year in advance... summer time... everyone save say at least $100. a month or more .. then the party is ON!... or houseboat on powell?

Here’s an idea:
Last month, I went to the RMEF “Elk Camp” expo in Reno, Nevada.
Next years event is planned for Reno, Thursday Feb 21 thru Sunday, Feb. 24.

#1 It's is in Reno, a very fun city, lots to do,
Great restaurants
Lots of shows
Great bars (hint, hint)
Gambling
Snow skiing close by

#2 The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation expo
Hunting related
Good cause
Even if you don’t like to eat, drink or gamble, the expo is lots of fun with auctions, raffles and an incredible display of elk mounts. Shopping for all (and I mean ALL) of the latest cool hunting stuff.

#3 The RMEF sets up good deals on rooms, I stayed at the Silver Legacy for $90 night.
Many airlines have special rates in to Reno.

Everyone who wanted to could book a room at the legacy and request the same floor. We could all meet for dinner Friday night, then again at the expo hall Saturday.

Gee Sounds good. I just bought my Fathers day, birthday, Christmas and Anniversary present. but RMEF sounds good shortdrive for me plus I can get a free steak at Claim Jumpers.

I'm up for anything...... MtMiller, What's your Idea for the hunt ? getting guy together for a hunt you need 2 things to work out. Animals and a good price. The only thing I can think of would be a "bou hunt or a Louisiana Duck hunt. I would be up for either as well.

I like the Reno/vegas Idea. My partner here went to the SCI show and said it was Awesome as well.

Good to see people thinking. I'm not oposed to a Cruise or Reno deal. Talk to me folks

Just got back to the hotel...clock says 3:30 and I have to be ready to go to the airport at 4:40...I guess I will sleep on the plane.

I will see what's on the digicam and if any of it is suitable for the fireside at hunttalk. I believe there may have been one of me riding one of the lion/ram/pharoah thingies outside of the luxor...just prior to a security guard telling me to get my A$$ off. I think I made it a full 8 seconds anyway.

This was my first trip to Vegas and I loved it. I think the next time will be better because I've already wasted the time figuring out where not to go. I didn't see a single breast while here...but is spring break so there is plenty of eyecandy. Total gambling balance between my wife and I over 4 days... -20 dollars. My wife has a golden horseshoe in some part of her anatomy that I haven't found, the breakdown of our combined gambling balance is approximately smalls (-100) and smallswife (+80). The woman sat down at a PENNY SLOT MACHINE last night and in 10 minutes walked away $20 up...who does that! Anyway, I better jump in the shower so I don't smell like booze/casino on the flight home.
