Howa big fin edition rifles on sale

Regardless of opinions regarding calibers or brands, offering items for sale and not following through is not good business. On top of that, lying about it, stating to Gunbroker that I Returned it was the reason for the refund.
Couldn't you just have ordered it directly from Sportsman's? They can ship to an FFL.

I understand the frustration but in order for the rifle to be taken off gunbroker as soon as sportsmans inventory was exhausted would require gunbroker to have an interface into sportsmans inventory control system or gunbroker would have to provide an API for sellers that would allow them to automatically send an out of inventory status so that gunbroker could then remove the rifle.

My gut says those systems are not in place. Some dude at sportsmans that manages gun internet sales posted these and went home for the day. Next morning realized he sold more than he had in inventory and had to issue refunds.

There's gotta be a better way than to say it was returned though? I've read of frustrations with gunbroker sellers pulling stuff and selling things they dont have and gunbroker not holding them accountable or letting negative reviews stay on their record.

At $499.00 it's still overpriced.
I don't think so. I ordered one and it came in the other day. I went down to do the paperwork and look at it. The stock looks decent and it's pretty light. I think if you buy that stock alone from Stocky's its more than $499. 6.5 creed is a bit polarizing but if you disregard the hyperbole on either side, you will see it's a pretty good cartridge for many things.

Sportsman’s Warehouse. Ordered processed and “Awaiting Shipment” from Day 1 of purchase. 5 days later order canceled, rifle no longer available. Today I got an email from Gunbroker notifying me that SW is sending me a refund. The credit is for a “Return” that is listed as “Other” for the reason.
The other day when I went in to deal with mine the guy at the counter said they were selling like hotcakes. I was like the fourth or fifth guy to come in and do paperwork on one that day.

If it was in 7-08, 308 or anything other than the 6.5 creed I would agree. The way the creed was sold to the hunting crowd has forever left a black mark on it for me. All the hype over these cartridges are covering the same ground as one's that were already there. The big difference is in the twist of the barrels. In my opinion the 260 Rem, 6.5 Swede or the 264 Win would be very comparable to the creed and other new calibers if it had a tighter twist. It was a great marketing ploy and it paid off. It's just not for me YMMV.

I think being a gun owner of any type in Hawaii is pretty tough. I feel for you.

Thanks. The shipping usually kills us on a lot of stuff and ammo can be another issue. I buy most of my ammo from SW, we travel a lot and I always visit their stores if there is one nearby. We do have some FFL’s here now that have listed themselves with places like Gunbroker, Midway, EuroOptic and Palmetto State etc. It has become easier to bring in rifles.

I definitely agree with you that it overlaps those other cartridges and the marketing hype for the cartridge was over the top. Add in some of the crazy things people said about it on the internet and I think a lot of people share your view. I really don't get caught up in the marketing hype of all the new wiz bang cartridges that get introduced. I've found the creed to be pleasant to shoot and accurate. Ammo availability rivals the other popular cartridges now so I like it. Appreciate your opinion.

I see. That's a bumStrange.. They must not use UPS. Shipping to HI FFL should not be a problem, but maybe UPS or FedEx rake them over the coals since it’s not “ground”.

Same. It is a good cartridge and just that, nothing to hold a grudge over based on how it was marketed. For me, it has been my favorite cartridge when used on antelope, allowing me to take a couple out to my maximum range, and helping my buddy to take his 1st ever big game aninal. I would have full confidence with 6.5CM on deer, black bear and responsible broadside shots on elk. Ammo availability and pricing is some of most favorable, and theres no reason to shun it any longer just cause its popular.

How was the creedmoor marketed by Hornady that was off putting? I see stuff like that a lot but I dont recall any off the wall claims. Certainly there were and are lots of people who don't know what they are talking about making ridiculous statements about them. The one thing that sticks in my mind is comparing ballistics to a 300 WM but i dont recall if Hornady did that. Common 6.5 loads can certainly hold their own on wind drift and maybe trajectory at "beyond ethical hunting" distances if using traditional 300 wm loads with stubby bullets but that's not an apples to apples compare in current times.
