How to Improve Deer habitat

Food, water, and cover - it appears cover is your limiting factor. White pine or spruce would be the way to go. White pine generally grow faster but can get browsed pretty good by deer. Spruce are generally more resistant to browsing but grow noticeably slower than white pine. Both will eventually provide good thermal cover in the winter. Seems to be a lot of red cedar? further west - I don’t have any experience with those but maybe they would provide an option?
