Nice truck Elk. mtmuleyThere’s no such thing as too old. It’s all a matter of how much time and money you want to sink into it. My 94 has been all over Montana and made road trips to Wyoming and Idaho. View attachment 420071

Thanks. My 16 year old is driving it. He would rather have it than a brand new one.Nice truck Elk. mtmuley
Me too. My 24 year old is counting the days that the old 86 Chevy comes his way. mtmuleyThanks. My 16 year old is driving it. He would rather have it than a brand new one.
I think the $$$ thing is overblown with older vehicles. Say you have a $500 payment on a truck, which is pretty low in today's market. That's $6000 a year. You can make an older rig pretty damn bulletproof with $6000 as long as it's not a huge piece of shit to begin with. There’s no such thing as too old. Yep. I paid $6k for that truck 7 years ago. Other than routine maintenance, I’ve spent about $1k on it since then.I think the $$$ thing is overblown with older vehicles. This has been my strategy for a while now. Works well. mtmuleyI think the $$$ thing is overblown with older vehicles. Say you have a $500 payment on a truck, which is pretty low in today's market. Makes sense depending on what all you use a pickup for. I put 16,000 a year on mine and use it for many per year 5 hour commutes to the farm, towing trailers and campers, hauling around grandkids. An older pickup just doesn’t suit my needs especially when you consider modern safety features. This has been my strategy for a while now. Works well. mtmuley
