Almost Go Time! 13 days and a wakeup until the flight to Fairbanks, Alaska for the 2025 Dall Sheep hunt (Brooks Range).

Started planning this second hunt for a Dall ram in January 2022. We bumped a legal ram in the same unit in 2020, and I vowed to return.

I’ve been hunting yotes and ground squirrels for farmers and ranchers all summer. Praying for MT pronghorn, but Washington deer and Montana cow elk season will be here soon! I’ve been scouting for both. The deer are thick in my spots this year, and we have a solid plan for cow elk.

WA bear starts Aug 1, so 15 days for me. Not ready for it at all but I'll be out somewhere. Will probably be scouting for deer too, depending on where I end up.

September 20 driving west 2000 miles with truck and trailer for a couple weeks of waterfowl hunting in Saskatchewan. October- November whitetail hunting home and New York. Kansas rifle Whitetail first of December… another long drive.

Way too soon. In fact it’s time to get into shape and hit the range. Summer is almost over it seems.

Hopeful we can fly in the 8th. I’m about 1 for 7 on actually getting in the day I want to go due to weather or fires. Not looking good this year. So many fires in central Interior.

I got about
12 weeks 1 day till doe season which im gonna attempt to take 2 Does and I got a new tree stand to play with so thats gonna be fun.

17 weeks 2 days till buck season which will be interesting i think I got a fairly decent 10 point hanging around

20 weeks 2 days till December doe season and im not sure if im gonna hunt it or not

23 weeks 2 days till muzzleloader season which hopefully it snows and I can hunt in the snow for my first time in the meanwhile I got some rifle stuff to do and I gotta cut some trees and firewood and I wanna learn the ropes of a stand so itll be a exciting season

6 weeks to grouse- puppy is 5 months currently
7 weeks to archery elk
12 weeks to hopefully antelope hunt with my dad. Possibly chase a pheasant.
14 weeks to rifle elk and deer, since I suck at elk hunting and won’t get one in archery season
17 weeks to maybe hunt rifle deer with the family in Missouri

Might try calling around to see if anyone has a problem with cow elk so I can try to fill the freezer in the early shoulder season.
