Hottest Summer Ever?

This is one "brutal" summer in AZ... I was coming home from a poker game at 10:30 tonight... the truck therm. read 105 as I crossed near the airport [central phx.]... thats dam hot for 10:30 at night... By the time I got home.. it read 98 and I live near farms /desert... never seen it this hot before....could AL Gore be right???

My A.P.S. bill said the Average temp last month was 97 deg.....thats dam hot for an average..:hump:

Up here in MT I think it's been a pretty cool summer. At least around Great Falls; everything is still pretty green when it is usually brown. Not that I'm complaining.

I hear that from guys that live in AZ every summer. I remember during college I was there in february for a baseball tourney and it was in the 80's every day!

MAybe it's the Mass Exodous of illegals leaving causing the air to warm up ?!?!?!!

Not just AZ; this has been the longest hot spell I can ever remember. 6-7 weeks straight in the mid to high nineties with only 6 inches of rain since the first of June. For AZ you would be delighted with that much rain, but it's hardly adequate to sustain the quantity of vegetation and forests we enjoy here. Many trees are coloring up and dropping much of their leaf load in response to the dry, pines dropping loads of needles as well. Add to that a poor mast crop from the oaks, and the deer are going to have a hard time of it if there is no cropland nearby. Guess we'll just have to eat pig.

Hasn't seemed all that bad to me. June was real nice, for an AZ June anyway. July had the rain to cool it down some. August has been a little warm but it doesn't seem worse than normal to me.

AZ402 my brother lives in Payson.... He thinks This is a real hot July/Aug.


I agree June was nice...Maybe its just the Phx. metro....seems like hell....not much rain on the westside
