I’ve had problems the last few years with getting super painful hotspots on my toes and front pads of my feet when hiking. They never blister. I’ve tried liner socks, different insoles, and today Leuko tape. I don’t understand what’s causing it. Sometimes I don’t notice it being a problem, and other times I have to stop walking to let my feet rest from the pain. Any ideas??

Gold bond body powder. Sometimes i'll put it on before a hike, and then during. . Even sprinkle some in my boots or in my socks. It's been helpful for me on multi day treks.

Try this cheap and simple trick. Curl your toes as hard as you can while lacing your boot tight, then relax them.
I use this as a "feeler gage" to keep my lacing consistent and give me room in the toe box.

So leaving my laces looser helps a lot. But man is the line extremely fine between too loose and too tight.

What type of socks do you wear. Any and all hiking should be done in wool socks... its a far to often overlooked piece of kit.
