Thumb break or not, for a Glock type handgun that will be CC and also carried afield? Pros/cons as I have always carried revolvers.

I really enjoy DeSantis leather paddle holsters.

Also Blackhawk make a variety of serpa type holsters. I don't personally like these though many seem to be very happy with them.

I would get one that has a lock inside the holster without the thumb break myself. I was a Deputy 14 years and the thumb break just gets in the way if you are looking at the ease of draw. The thumb break is def needed though if you do not get a holster with sometype of retention device inside the holster. It will cost more but well worth the bucks. I would never want a holster without a thumb break or retention device for CC.

I have a few for my Glocks but my favorite is the Bianchi black widow. It is a thumb break that is slightly wider than a belt. Forward canted and I don't have to worry about the gun falling out like I do with my Fobus.

Thanks guys! This gives me something to go on. Whatever I do I am going to buy one from a local gun shop instead of a bigbox store as I would rather keep my $ local even if it means spending a little more. Will let you know what I come up with then you can all beat on me:D

For a Glock in the field the Blackhawk Serpa with the retention would well for you I'd think. If you prefer a leather holster, Galco has a really nice hi ride paddle holster for them as well.

Might want to take a look at UBG Holsters. Nate is a good guy and does nice work at a fair price - made to fit your exact weapon and any options. I have three with a 4th on order - very pleased.
