Not Virginia anymore!
For those of you who save them, any creative ideas for a nice hide? Was thinking about making an elk blanket for the cabin. That's assuming one is dumb enough to walk in front of me again next year.

Here ya go. Those of you who make fun of my chopper mitts, or baking gloves as some call them, you can get the same mitts made of your critters right here.

Good folks too.

If you end up talking to Jared, make sure to let him know you heard about it here.

Have you ever thought about tanning yourself? Dad did it for years (until he was 89, but not strong enough after that) and covered his pickup seat in elk leather and his favorite horsehair stuffed chair. Of course he left his to soak until the hair slipped and he started scraping. Not that hard to do.

lol, I cant beleive anyone would have anything bad to say about them. Other than weight chopper mitts have to be in the top 50 list for cold climate innovations. There used to be a place by me, that'd take your hides in and give you mitts or gloves in exchange for them.

I had the hide tanned on the white (leucistic) phase whitetail in my avitar and have it draped over a steamer trunk in our front room.

I've had a few pillows made. I have about 30 flats saved up. Gonna have some blankets made as well.
