Going to hunt the Wemenuche Wilderness GMU 78 this fall during CO 2nd rifle elk. Additionally between the two of us have a bear tag and a deer tag. Its got me a lil miffed since we are at the mercy of our outfitter (somewhat) whom which I trust to get us into game rich country the best he can. We normally would do a bivy hunt, but having a packer take us in 8-12mi should help possibly find unpressured animals. We aren't really sure what our plan of attack will be??? As of now we are thinking we are thinking of trying to find elk during g their daily routine from high ground to feeding/bedding areas and setup an ambush. For deer we really have no plan of attack other than S&S, and bear by accident!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. We plan on still doing a pseudo bivy style hunt, constantly moving a "spike" camp till we find game.

If he is just packing you and your gear into a general area then your last sentence is a solid game plan. Also, be prepared for the weather. You cannot underestimate it that time of year at that elevation. Don't be afraid, just be prepared.

For the bear. Go for it when you have a gut pile. Start hunting it once you see they have hit it. They should come by for a few days.
