Help me pick out new tires

Dang, 50k in a year?! I've had a couple of sets of the Toyo AT3 and they've been great.

I can only find the EV version of the Toyos in my size. @El Jason mentioned going skinnier to get a wider variety of available options. Im curious if going skinnier will affect stability on a truck with the 2" lift from the factory?? Maybe thats why its stock with the wider tires?

Heading to Wyoming for the archery elk opener. Need to decide soon!!

You will get dozens of recommendations here. Talk to reputable tire shops and explain your needs. I like the ST Maxx. Might not work for you. mtmuley

I really like the Toyo AT3s, but I don't have a need for super puncture resistance. I find them great in snow and great economy while being quiet.

There are some YouTube guys that discuss tires including tough ones for off-road. You are going to have to tradeoff economy for toughness or vice versa. I'd watch some of those guys. The tire market changes often, so the best on here might exclude some of the new "best" tires.

Ive had Faulkin wild peaks and they were great on dirt and rock but sucked in snow and ice. Put Ko2's on my wrangler and dont think they are anything special. Put Cooper Ruggedtrek's on my f150 and they are the best all around all terrain tires I've used. Im on my second set. They do great on wet or dry, great with mud, and good on snow and ice. Not too loud either for being an aggressive tire. The ONLY downside is you only get about 40-45k on them.

It won’t affect stability. It may feel slightly different because of the width, but ultimately sidewalls are the same size.

Wider tires are heavier. Maybe better stability. More susceptible to hydroplaning. Worse traction in the snow.

I’d do the 285s if it were me.

Its been a few decades, but the last set I had were really loud and wore faster than I thought they should. Have they made improvements recently?

I had a couple bad experiences with Cooper, quick tread wear and a couple flats. Went to the K/O2s, on my second set now, will be a third this fall, tread wear, traction, and durability have been very good. Road noise is good to start with, the more they wear, the louder they get though.
