If anyone has knowledge of old fly rods. This was a gift from my uncle. It says Bassett on the grip but I’ve been unable to find anything online take a look and let me know if you know where I could find out info on it.

Do a search on Appleton and Basset. I think they started making rods in the late 1800s? Looks like it's either bamboo or cane.

Seems to be very knowledgable guys on the classic flyrod forum and I turned up a few posts of folks asking about Bassett rods. I would go there if you don't turn up any real experts here.

I can tell you this, it is a valuable rod. I cringe at how many bamboo rods I gave away, discarded and broke in my youth. Ugh. I was in a fly shop in Provo, Utah about 20 years ago and saw a rod and reel set up identical to two set ups I had as a kid. Asking price? $1,450.

Yeah I know it’s probably in the 1500$ knowing my uncle and the fact it was a wedding gift
