A spike and a forked raghorn joined a small group of cows I’ve been watching since spring. Heard my first bugle of the year on Thursday!

But I just saw a rack in the trees heading to the tank in the rain.

I have a big cow elk herd that lives around my house - grazing in my yard close. A small six point moved into the herd this week. I’ve heard another bull bugling about a mile away on a hike. He’s bugling better than the spikes do all summer. Rut is in the early stages.
