Leave Saturday for Wyoming archery antelope. I surprised my friend Leah with an antelope tag. She's still the type "A" personality and won't miss a day of college. The only option is archery which starts on the 15th of August (college at Iowa State starts Monday Aug 22). We will hunt for three days. She loved seeing them when we were shooting Prairie dogs in June. You should have seen her eyes when on the last day of Prairie dog hunting I told her that she had drawn a tag :) She has a bow however, she is only accurate out to 20 yards. She has been practicing with my crossbow and is deadly out to 60 yards.... so the crossbow it will be.

I have two blinds loaded, a decoy, "be the decoy" and I will buy a Montana cow decoy on the way out at a Cabela's store. I'm trying to give her the best chance possible. I've never hunted this early and it scares me. I am so comfortable hunting them in late September.

good luck to all

20 yards is plenty of range for an antelope, bring that other bow and give her a chance.
