Harvest data is scaring me...

If I every uttered these words I wouldn't be scared of much...

I am going to try and be part of the 4% my normal unit that I hunt I have gone 3 bulls in 3 years. With the change in units, I was told that hunting the unit was a waste of time. I have seen elk in the unit but if I were to shoot one, it would likely fall for a long time before finding a spot to settle.

my intended hunting spots all require either canoe, motorcylce or chains on all fours so it’s definitely going to be an adventure.

As a NR i have hunted 2 units in Idaho... 1 is sought after with higher success rate, the other lower success rate. I am 1 for 3 in the sought after and 2 for 2 in the area with lower success rate. I'm no expert, but it seems like effort trumps success rates

I live in Idaho and I would never hunt a unit with a 4% success rate. Lots of good elk hunting in Idaho, but wherever that unit is, it sucks.
