Good morning guys. just a question about gun cleaning. I recently purchased a 38 caliber revolver with mild pitting on the frame although the the blueing is in decent shape. what do you recomend to remove the pitting as best as possible without further harming the blueing? And is this even possible or do I have to live with what I have? Any and all ideas and recomendions are appreciated.

If it's pitted your stuck with it, surface rust you can remove with fine steel wool, oil, and light pressure.

Brass wool soaked in Hoppe's No 9; less damaging that steel wool and should be in 0000, but can use 0000 steel if careful, just more prone to scratch. I believe Midway or one of the other mail order houses carries the brass. Use the edge of a solid copper penny to knock off the larger particles.
