Another great day in the field yesterday.
Another water retreive on pheasants for Ryker. At 6 years old I am in the special times with him.

Stocked birds, but a helluva good time.

No birds to show as usual, but I picked up half a dozen decoys for $15 and a $10 duck call (complete with a lanyard made from a shoestring and a rubber band!) so me 'n Franklin could go see what kind of trouble we could get into. Neither of us had any idea what we were doing, but it was a nice morning. Didn't see any ducks flying, other than the group that spooked off the water when we arrived.



Franklin got to learn how to navigate the decoys and got some swimming time. Then he managed to chill out and hang with me in the cattails for a bit.


Hopefully I can find a spot more conducive to seeing ducks and we can get a chance at calling some in.

Also got Ruby out to a new spot and got into a mess of huns. The scenery was decent.
