Geriatrics on HT , am I part of the problem?

So can only answer for myself in regards to the dwindle down of posting over the last few years. Started working for the Sheriff's Office doing Search & Rescue about five years ago cuz I felt I had too much "down time" in retirement. That took a bite outta HuntTalk time. Then became an Instructor about two years ago so that took another bite with the 2-1/2 month academy each spring. Finally we had our 6th grandchild born last January BUT he's the first one that actually lives in our town so down time has been backfilled with kiddo time and we're thankful for it.

In a nutshell, still enjoy reading/participating here but "life" has slowly crept back into the game and as extended geriatrics approach (am 67 now) I see it as being far more important that screen time was.

I don’t think I yet qualify as geriatric, but I’m pretty sure if we end up in some apocalyptic times requiring reading paper maps, driving manual transmissions, using rotary phones I’ll be able to survive. I’d probably be an intelligence asset because I can write and decipher cursive.
Cursive,.... that qualifies you.

That all sounds lovely.

This was my computer/calculator during freshman year at MSU.

I found one of these when I was cleaning out the office of one of my now-retired colleagues a year or so ago. Still have no idea what is or how to use it.

But I also remember working fisheries in Colorado and the computer we had to use for aging with scale annuli and generating age structures was an old DOS machine that none of us young field techs knew how to use. The old guys had to set it up and teach us DOS commands 🤣

I can write cursive to. It is far from lovely though. Anything I write at faster than a snails pace is hard to decipher even for me. Big part of why I didn't take notes in collage.
