Well, it was a beautiful day in interior Alaska today...sunny and in the 50's-60's. We decided to pack an ice chest, my daughter, and 7-month pregnant wife and head down to Denali NP. The road is open to 32 mile this time of year. Normally you can only drive to 12 mile, but they open the first 32 to the public before the tour busses start running in mid-May. It was clear as a bell and the mountain was out in all its glory:

We saw some caribou along the way:

I manuevered around and managed to get a picture of the caribou with Denali in the background:

It was a great day all around and we all had a blast. Just reason number 1487 why I love living in Alaska. I set the camera on the back of my truck and used the timer to take a picture of the three of us in front of the mountain. All and all, I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Sunday.

Good times guppie. I remember first arriving to Alaska. Shortly after my oldest daughter was born, I took her and my wife for a Sunday drive. The weather was very similar to what you posted. We drove from North Pole to Denali, to Paxson (via the Denali Hwy) and back up to North Pole all in a single day. We did the trip in my wife's two door sports car. Needless to say, she wasn't very happy with me when we pulled back in the driveway that night.

Neat pics guppie! By the time I get to go to Alaska I'll be one of them old foggies on the tour bus.

Awesome scenery...I sure do miss those blue skies we used to have in Az..I love temps 60-70`s thanks for the pics
