First week of May I will be TDY at FT Huachuca.....any eating establishments or other attractions I have to visit while there? The ridiculously cheap powers that be at the Department of the Army aren't giving any of us rental cars so I would have to uber it. Any pointers are appreciated.

First of all, thank you for your service!!!

I grew up in Tucson, taught high school history right out of college for a short while in Tombstone (a VERY short drive from Sierra Vista/Ft. Huachuca).

Tombstone is interesting for most folks --- just know it is focused towards tourists.

Without question, the "don't miss" item in SE Arizona is Kartchner Caverns! Amazing that it wasn't discovered (on privately owned land) until 1974, then wasn't made known to the public for almost 15 years (to protect the cave's integrity). Truly one of those "you've got to see to believe" spots!!!

Note: you should call the park about admittance requirements.

BTW, here's a pic of a Coues whitetail one of our disabled Arizona vets took this past season on Ft. Huachuca via a donated deer tag ...
